We came into Thursday’s live eviction episode of Big Brother with one expectation: We would enter the night with four people, and by the end of the episode, we would have our final three. With no head of household (HOH) or veto competition played, we saw another full night of BB gameplay in one night, even if a lot of it wasn’t live.

Knowing she’s all alone in her fight to be crowned the best player of the season, Taylor clutches up and wins the HOH comp where houseguests had to guess which one of their former roommates were missing from the montage and build their face in a cube puzzle. Taylor ultimately decides to put up Drew and Dee, as she does not want Devens thinking she would take Dee to the end. Ultimately, though, it’s all about the golden power of veto, as the winner of that competition would cast the sole vote to evict.

The comp for the veto was knowing the days that certain events took place in the house. Each round, the last person to get the day wrong would get a strike, with three strikes eliminating the houseguest for the competition. Unfortunately for the Survivor’s, they are the first ones out, and Drew goes perfect in the comp, knocking out Taylor and guaranteeing only one icon will be present inside the house on finale night.

As for which icon he takes with him to final three, the dental assistant is truly torn. He is closer with Devens; he views the man as his BB “dad”. However, he knows if his “dad” sits in those final two chairs, even with Drew by his side, Devens will win the game. 

With Dee, he believes he can beat her in the final HOH, but if he doesn’t, she or Taylor will not take him to final two, unlike Devens. Therefore, this is what Drew is weighing as we head into the live eviction:

  • If he takes Devens, he is almost certainly guaranteed second place. Both Devens and Taylor will take him over the other. But could he beat either in the end if he doesn’t take them?
  • If he takes Dee, he has to win out to win the game, but if he can do that, he will win the game, but if he doesn’t, he will get third place. Is that worth the risk?

In the end, the 22-year-old evicts the Survivor 45 winner. Our final three is Taylor, Drew, and Survivor 38 and Survivor 50 castaway Devens.

Non spoiler thoughts

  • Taylor crushed that final four HOH. Dee’s strength in Survivor was always physical challenges and not puzzles, and it’s showing up this season and could have been the downfall of her game.
  • Drew destroyed the final veto competition. The kid is indeed winning when he has to, as is Taylor. That’s why they are both at the end of the game. 
  • Drew has taken out one Survivor icon. He says if he wins the final HOH, he will take Devens with him, but his resume would get a huge boost if he were to take out both of the Survivor’s after being viewed as their puppet for most of the game.
  • The jury house was dumbfounded by Yash being evicted in the double eviction when both icons were on the block. How surprised will they be when one of the icons joins them as the sixth member of the jury?
