With Jason evicted, the minority side of the house (LaTrice, Yash, Melody, Mallory, Lyric, and Taylor) are feeling the pressure to win the head of household (HOH) competition and put the other side of the house under pressure for the first time in the game. Right before the HOH competition, Melody, Mallory, Taylor, and LaTrice are talking about the importance of the HOH, and Melody specifically notes the only person that cannot win HOH from her perspective is Haley because in her mind, she is not a nice person.

That is exactly what happened, as in an HOH competition set in the 1800s where Jack The Ripper was looking to claim soles in a room memory competition, Haley outlasts Yash to win her first HOH of the season. As soon as she gets her key, Taylor makes a comment about the snacks that will be in her HOH room, and that all but sealed Taylor’s fate for going up on the block, but before Haley starts having her one-on-one’s, in her HOH room, she publicly calls out the ones talking bad about her behind her back, something she warned her Toolshed alliance member Rick Devens she would do right after winning HOH.

Taylor suggests that LaTrice go up to HOH and ousts Melody to Haley to keep herself off the block. After hearing the information, Haley confronts Melody face-to-face about her words, and Melody, to her credit, owned up to her backtalking and even told Haley if she was HOH, she would be going up on the block.

As for her third nominee, Haley wants to put up a man. She made a deal with Yash in the HOH competition that if she won, she would not put him up, so she wants to put up a Toolshed member as a pawn. She addresses with both Barrett and Drew that their names have been floating on both sides of the house, and in the end, she decides to put up Drew next to Melody and Taylor, something Angela has been pushing for weeks.

Also, the third reality legend in Survivor 45 winner Dee entered the time capsule and earned the BB Bribe power, which means she can bribe somebody to do something for her that is game related, and in exchange, they will get $5,000. The power is good throughout the entire game.

Non spoiler thoughts

  • For the fourth consecutive episode, the majority alliance is in power, but I don’t think the other side of the house realizes how many cracks they’re in the alliance. The Toolshed is, for all intents and purposes, dead. 
  • Dee, Devens, and Angela are playing nearly a perfect game right now. Two of the three have powers, and they’re letting the Red Corner (Kamu and Haley) take shots at the house they don’t have to do while also staying off the block, and once the other side does eventually win HOH, I think Haley and Kamu have made themselves bigger targets at this point than the icons.
  • Taylor said Jason didn’t have the votes to stay, but he would have if she would have voted with that side of the house. I’m not sure she or LaTrice have a grasp on the house.
  • Losing builds character, and Melody and Mallory are clearly building character, as they keep losing power. If one of them does eventually win HOH, it will not be a fun week for the rest of the house. 
  • I don’t think Drew truly realizes how much trouble he’s in this week.
