Coming off the nomination ceremony, Taylor makes a beeline towards the head of household (HOH) room and demands Haley tells her why she’s on the block. The HOH flat out tells her that she was laughing when Jason was banging pots last week, and she made fun of her snacks.

Taylor is furious she’s on the block for non-game reasons and says in the diary room (DR) she’s trying to not show us how crazy she can get when she’s mad, which is a scary thought to think about. She channels that energy into the veto competition, which was hosted by Morgan from Big Brother 27 and was the same poison wine veto competition Mickey (RIP) won last season (that Morgan also hosted). With Chuk and Mallory joining the competition, Taylor and Drew know they have to win to take themselves off the block while Mallory would use the veto on Melody. In the end, Taylor outlasts Chuk to take herself off the block.

With a fourth nominee needed, it’s down to Mallory and Lyric. Lyric is someone who earlier in the episode not only made a final two with Yash, but was open with Kamu, Haley, and in DR about her desire to flip to the “winning side of the house” because she doesn’t want to be associated with “losers”. There’s a heavy debate between the HOH, Kamu, Chuk, and the icons about who to put up as the replacement, with Kamu pushing hard for a Mallory re-nom because he believes Lyric. As a matter of fact, he wants to replace Drew in the Toolshed with Lyric. Haley does not believe Lyric, and in her mind, if Lyric is willing to flip on her best friends in the house, what’s going to stop her from flipping on the alliance the second she gets the chance. Haley promised Lyric safety during the HOH competition, yes, but she never promised her re-nomination, which is exactly what we got at the end of the episode.

Non spoiler thoughts

  • On Drew: In DR, Angela applauds putting up Drew as a pawn, but she absolutely wants him to be the target. Drew tries to talk to Haley, and she assures him he is a pawn. Meanwhile, Dee tries to build trust with Barrett by letting him know Drew is the target. Barrett does not want this information getting back to Drew, so he doesn’t tell him when Drew asks Devens and Barrett if the Toolshed is still good.
  • On Lyric: Lyric acting like she’s not friends with somebody (Mallory), who is arguably a top three competitor in the house, is interesting logic from a lawyer.
  • On Yash: Himself, Kamu, Dee, and Devens formed the Wolfpack earlier this week, and he has a final two with Lyric. Even if the latter gets evicted and reunites with Rome this week, Yash has gone from working on the minority side of the house to being more in the middle than even Drew and Barrett. From the block Week 1 to this in Week 4, Yash has integrated himself under the radar. Winner pick? His game is very similar to Ashley’s last season.
  • On Taylor: She clutched up this week with the veto competition win, but I still don’t see that dog in her.
  • I wish we got more DR’s out of Morgan. What a BB legend!
  • Even if the minority side of the house does finally win power this week, the icons seem to be safe, as the Red Corner has made themselves huge targets. That could come to ahead in Week 5.
  • Earlier in the week, I thought Drew was the target. Now, it looks like Drew is safe in all scenarios and in the event Lyric wins the blockbuster tonight, Melody will be out the door. The majority alliance wants to split up Drew and Melody, but they believe Drew will be loyal to the Toolshed if they save him and prove he really was just the pawn. I’m not sure how true that is, and it could flip by tonight’s live eviction. For the first time this season, it’s not 100% clear going into blockbuster who is being evicted.
