All week, the houseguests were preparing for a double eviction. Their suspicions were right on Thursday night. After Drew won the pressure cooker and used the power of veto on himself, Melody, Barrett, and Taylor had to battle in the final blockbuster of the season. #ButFirst, we got to see Lala and Angela together in the jury house. They both feel the icons have played a strong game, plus Yash, but if Drew or Barrett get to the end, they have done something right.

Going into the blockbuster, Melody and Drew attempted to campaign a bit to the icons, but they knew it was a lost cause. Unbeknown to them, however, was the final four that was formed between Taylor, Yash, and the icons, known as the Culture.

Drew knows he could very well be the swing vote if both Melody and Barrett are on the block together. While Melody is his closest friend in the game, Barrett will help him more in his quest of getting to the end because Barrett can actually win competitions. 

Well, Drew, your closest friend, at least on a personal level (more on this later), shocks both fans and the houseguests by navigating all of her balls on a snake trap to get them in the tube to take herself off the block. By a vote of 3-1, with Melody being the only one to evict Taylor, Barrett becomes the third member of the jury and bolts out of the house.

The Big Brother superfan is ecstatic over his experience in the house and is rooting for Dee, Devens, and Yash, the three strongest competitors left in the game, to win the game. Even though he was annoyed with Drew at times gamewise, they played the middle almost the whole way through until Barrett took the shot at the icons. He wanted to take Drew to final two.   

With Barrett evicted, Julie Chen Moonves informs the house that it is time for the double eviction. With Yash unable to play, Melody goes back-to-back, winning a booth comp where the houseguests had to answer true or false on lines said throughout the season. With the head of household (HOH) power for the first time, the icons go up, but Devens once again pulls a rabbit out of the hat and builds his Great Wall of China puzzle faster than anyone, taking himself off the block with the power of veto, forcing Melody to put up Yash next to Dee. By a vote of 2-1, with Drew and Devens voting to evict Yash, and Taylor voting to evict Dee, the man who won 10 competitions this season, took a bribe, and battled back after being nominated for eviction Week 1, does indeed leave the house on the double eviction. The Culture is dead after only a few days.

Chen Moonves lets us know that there will be an elimination after Wednesday’s episode and after a special Friday episode to get us down to the Final 3. 

Non spoiler thoughts

  • I’m glad Lala and Angela are content together in the jury house.
  • Melody and Barrett could have done more campaigning than they did to try to keep themselves safe.
  • By winning the blockbuster and the HOH on double eviction, Melody has her Ashley Hollis moment from last season, but it may have happened too early on the HOH win.
  • Drew’s smile when evicting Yash was iconic! Taylor was right to campaign for herself or Drew to go up over Yash. She knew the writing was on the wall. 
  • The newbies have SOMEHOW let the Survivor players get to Final 5.
  • By Wednesday in real time, we will probably be down to the Final 3. There’s two duos in the house (Dee/Devens and Drew/Melody), with Taylor floating. Will both duos be broken up by finale night?
