The first hour of this 1000th episode spectacular was a look back into the history of this ultimate social experiment, concluding with the Guinness Book of World Records awarding the show with two new records:

  1. Most episodes for a reality tv series.
  2. Most episodes for a primetime tv show.

With Big Brother (BB) legends all over the audience, Mallory, Drew, and Taylor would face the blockbuster, but before we get there, we see Barrett have a realization about the icons: They’re using him.

To Barrett, putting up Drew was one thing. Putting up Mallory crossed the line. The Crossovers are dead. The Mosh pit is equally as toast. It’s time to go into full campaign mode to save one of his best friends in the game, even if that means eliminating Drew from the game. After all, he has played both sides the entire time.

Barrett’s pitch to Haley and Yash: The icons messed up your head of households (HOH). Mess up there’s, which is a strong pitch. The icons know they need Haley and/or Yash to vote out Mallory because Barrett is not on board. If Taylor or Mallory win the blockbuster, Drew would be heading out the door, and the icons would be blindsided.

Alas, the plan never comes to fruition, as Drew locks in the correct answer -- C-- on a memory/clue comp first. The vote goes 6-2, with Barrett and Melody sticking to their F.A.P. alliance and voting to evict Taylor.

After her exit interview with the Pipe Queen, Julie reveals the big 1000th episode twist: There will be no HOH comp, veto comp, or blockbuster this week. Feeds will be shut down until after Sunday’s episode. On Sunday’s episode, somebody’s game will end before the jury begins, as four iconic BB players will push the houseguests to limits they’ve never seen.

Non spoiler thoughts

  • Mallory leaving was best for the icons game, but Drew should have sided with F.A.P., and I think he realized it the moment he heard the audience gasp when he announced he was evicting Mallory.
  • A compliment to Mallory that she was seen as a big of a threat as she was to the icons. She is a fan of the game and played like it. As time goes on, I think she will see why the move was made this week. Her feelings are hurt right now and rightfully so. There goes our diary room queen this season. At least we still have Haley vs Melody and now maybe Barrett vs Dee/Devens (I don’t think he’s mad at Angela as much as the Survivor players).
  • Drew better grab a life vest and stop floating and cling on to the icons because that’s all he has now.
  • What am I going to do without feeds this weekend?! No, Julie, I will not touch grass! I refuse!
  • Please, BB, don’t let us lose an icon in a twist the way we did with Rachel last season.
