Nostalgia overtook my body as the sounds of twangy guitar riffs grooved through the halls of the Hollywood Palladium. The ambiance was that of a high school reunion, as fans and newcomers alike came together to honor their longtime favorite artists. Modest Mouse, the ’90s alternative rock band, brought the quirk of the Pacific Northwest with their group choruses and nontraditional percussion instruments. They continued to honor the legacy of former members, including Johnny Marr of The Smiths fame, with spirited guitar strumming layered with synth pads.
