Myles Smith - Hold Me In The Dark

“Hold Me In The Dark came from a really honest place,” says Smith. “From feeling stuck in my own thoughts and not knowing how to get out of it. Strangely, it takes me back to my first pair of headphones as a kid. I used to put them on to block out the shouting and the chaos at home, and in a weird way, they became a kind of escape for me. I didn't have many friends growing up because we moved around a lot, so music became one of the first places I ever felt safe. It's that push and pull between trying to run from things and realizing that sometimes you just need something or someone there with you. It's not about fixing everything, it's about not being alone in it.” Smith’s highly anticipated debut album My Mess, My Heart, My Life will be out June 19th. Catch the new tracks live while he’s on tour June 13th through August 29th.

Miss Grit - Under my Umbrella

For their second full-length album, Under My Umbrella, they’ve lifted the lid on their internal world, lasering in on the anxieties and heartbreak of the past two years. It’s an album that is as immersive and expansive as it is intimate, channeling the noir-ish atmosphere of classic trip-hop bands while adding a hefty dose of maximalism and a dream-pop sensibility. “It feels truer to myself, and more of a representation of what is actually coming out of me,” says Margaret Sohn. On tour May 8th through May 30th.

Hudson Rubin - Mistakes

A spinoff of Lindsay Lohan’s fictional band “Pink Slip” from the popular film Freaky Friday and its recent sequel, alternative rock band Hudson Rubin releases “Mistakes,” a catchy single featured as background music in a scene in Disney’s Freakier Friday starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. In a recent Billboard interview, lead singer Haley Hudson revealed, “We’re not a fictional band anymore, because two of us actually became a real band. We’re just really focusing on our music, and they actually used one of our songs in the movie, so we’re really excited about that.”

Sam Morrow -  Lucretia

Lucretia” is about breaking free from the places and people that keep you stuck. Built on biting guitar tones and a bouncy, propulsive groove, the track captures that first step forward when you finally decide to move on. “Lucretia is about getting out of a situation where you feel stuck,” says Morrow. “You just got to put one foot in front of the other, and that’s how I felt writing this song. It’s got biting guitar tones into a bouncy groove to get you on your feet and out of the mud.” Get ready for new album Southern Boogie, out June 12th. Morrow isn’t looking in the rear-view mirror. He’s kicking the door open, turning the amps up, and stepping fully into chapter two, louder and more himself than ever before. Sam Morrow is on tour from May 29th through Sept. 12th.

Pearl & The Oysters -  Doom Mood

For their new single “Doom Mood,” the duo share their cynical take on our current information age. Their fizzy, squiggly lounge pop, now leaning toward ‘70s piano rock as well as Brazilian, exotica, and city pop influences, asks how to live with uncertainty and disquiet. New album Monkey Mind, out June 26th, takes its title from the Buddhist concept of a restless, looping consciousness: thoughts jumping, spiraling, and rarely settling.
