BlackJeans - End Of The World (Part 1)

New York City-based artist BlackJeans invites listeners into his wild and theatrical universe with his new EP, END OF THE WORLD (Part 1). The six-track release is the first installment in a four-part EP series built around one simple question: If the world is ending, why not throw a party? Written by BlackJeans and co-produced by Adam Thein (known for his work with Djo), END OF THE WORLD (Part 1) brings together dance-pop, electronic production, punk energy, cabaret, clowning, and underground nightlife in a chaotic, euphoric collision of sound and spectacle. Although the EP clocks in at just under 13 minutes, it feels much bigger than its runtime. BlackJeans packs each moment with infectious hooks, theatrical twists, tongue-in-cheek humor, and bombastic lyricism, creating a project that reveals new details with every listen. Equal parts dance party, performance art, and manifesto for the beautifully unhinged, END OF THE WORLD (Part 1) is proof that even at the end of the world, the party goes on.

Ruben and The Dark - Bird Over The Sea

Reuben and the Dark–frontman and project mastermind Reuben Bullock, together with Benjamin Longman (keys/guitar), Sam Harrison (bass), Brendan “Dino” Soares (drums) as well as former bandmate and co-producer, Ian Jarvis–will release their new album If You Know Me You Know My Brother on October 9, 2026. Following the release of album opener "All My Money" earlier this month, they now share their new single "Bird Over The Sea." A stunning, metronomic song that lingered unfinished for over a decade, the track slowly builds to a cathartic ending and somehow emerges as one of the album’s most hopeful moments despite its darker subject matter. “‘Bird Over Sea’ deals with darker sides of our experience…writing about my younger days with my brother, struggling with addiction and suicide. In a strange way it still feels like one of the more uplifting songs on the record though,” Bullock explains. “This song has been floating around for over a decade, in different forms. I actually decided to re-record it for the Funeral Sky anniversary album as it was cut from the original version, but when I brought it to the band and breathed new life into it, it felt like it didn’t fit in. But this recording really captures the current spirit of the band.” 

Flowers For The Dead - My Misery is Mine

Flowers For The Dead today shared their new single “My Misery Is Mine,” a slow-building track that culminates in a cacophonous, distorted wall-of-sound end. “I wrote this song during one of those life moments where things feel like they're just happening and you have no control over it,” explains singer/guitarist Jessie Szegö of the song, out now alongside a Lucien Anderson-directed video. “I've learned to trust in the way things go and put faith in the universe, but there's always that juvenile instinct to hold onto sadness and anger and wear it like a badge.” “My Misery Is Mine” follows last month’s “Ladybug,” the rising DC trio’s first new music since last summer’s First Place EP, and first featuring new bassist Naomi Seat, the song saw praise and support from Atwood Magazine (“a gut-level triumph”), Earmilk (“coming out swinging on this track”), If It’s Too Loud (“...indie rock leaning into shoegaze, but with quite a punch behind it”), and more

Lockimara - Only Sun, Only Moon

New York-by-way-of-Toronto artist Lockimara–aka project mastermind Nicholas Gay–released his new album Only Sun, Only Moon today, and in celebration he’s shared a video for the tender track “Only Moon.” “I've always been interested in fiction and storytelling and the intersection between that and music. ‘Only Moon’ quickly took shape as a means of exploring this, and in writing a narrative that gave the music meaning, texture, and place,” he explains. “The song is about two people as they wait for the worst to come, both in their respective situations.” Only Sun, Only Moon draws from multiple years of upheaval, loss, and an international move for Gay. It finds him feeling unstable yet determined, and working through the deep sense of fear, risk, and uncertainty that comes with change. Across these nine songs, Gay balances conflicting feelings of impatience and resignation, and the different kinds of emotions that emerge from leaning into both. Blending acoustic delicacy, experimental textures, and dance-forward electronics, Lockimara transforms influence into ingenuity to create a uniquely genre-less collection, making Only Sun, Only Moon a body of work that feels at once familiar, bold, and intensely personal. 

Cassandra - ISLA TRANQUILITA

CASANDRA returns today with her new album ISLA TRANQUILITA. Expanding upon the ISLA TRANQUILITA EP released in May, the 13-track LP invites listeners deeper into CASANDRA’s richly imagined world, transforming a deeply personal story of heritage, healing, and remembrance into a cinematic journey. Translating to “little island of peace,” her new album ISLA TRANQUILITA is a love letter to her Cuban roots and late great-aunt Teresa who helped keep those traditions alive throughout her childhood in Miami. A constant source of comfort, Teresa would remind CASANDRA to “tranquilita” whenever life felt overwhelming, encouraging her to find stillness and peace amid chaos. Years later, CASANDRA carries that message forward through music, creating a sanctuary where family memories, hidden truths, and reclaimed roots can exist in harmony. Blending contemporary R&B with Cuban soul, alt-pop, and electronic influences, ISLA TRANQUILITA unfolds like a dreamlike escape, where vibrant rhythms meet intimate storytelling. Written in both English and Spanish, the album moves fluidly between moments of joy, longing, grief, and healing, with CASANDRA’s ethereal vocals guiding listeners through a world inspired by the landscapes, sounds, and emotions of her upbringing.

Ian Noe - The Heidelber Fisherman’s Ball

Ian Noe announced his highly anticipated third studio album. Canyon Falls Trailer Band is a sweeping 16-song concept album drawing on sounds from folk rock to country and is Noe’s most ambitious project of his career. The album imagines a legendary fictional band (Canyon Falls Trailer Band), who perform for one night only as a showcase seeking industry approval. The imaginary band explored a disparate range of genres in an attempt to entice the music industry. Their fate is unknown but their unforgettable performance remains the stuff of music legend. A new single from the album, “The Heidelberg Fisherman’s Ball,” a lively celebration set at an Eastern Kentucky fishing gathering and marks a pivotal moment in Noe's creative process. Noe was stuck in a creative rut ruminating on similar, minor chord songs he wasn’t happy with and a YouTube clip of legendary songwriter Craig Wiseman turned the page. It  became one of the defining pieces (along with title track “Canyon Falls Trailer Band”) to birth the central storytelling scene of  the album. Inspired by Wiseman's philosophy of letting ideas flow without overthinking them, the song arrived immediately. “This is simply the story of a fisherman’s gathering down by the riverside where the various women of Heidelberg present themselves like a date auction and try to find a mate.  That is the Heidelberg Fisherman’s Ball.”

The Family - I’ll Take It

On Friday, The Family — an extraordinary new band featuring acclaimed singer-songwriters Dylan LeBlanc, James LeBlanc, Angela Hacker, and Bay Simpson — will release their long-awaited debut album, Delusions of Grandeur via Big Black Cow Records. Beyond their personal accolades, there’s something else that bonds this quartet: they’re family. Dylan is James’ son, and Bay is Angela’s son. James and Angela met when the boys were still young, and they grew up together as musicians and as a family. Recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals during the pandemic and delayed due to the members' busy individual careers, the album channels the golden-age spirit of ‘70s folk-rock, and a testament to a talented family of musicians who overcame personal struggles, and found reconciliation through their love of music and each other. Accompanying the album release today, is the focus track, “I’ll Take It,” a warm folk rock gem sung by James LeBlanc. “A song about surrender - not defeat, but the kind that finally sets you free.” As described by Dylan LeBlanc. On the track, James, who helms vocal lead vocal duties on the track, stated, “The recording of it was easy and it flowed. We all love to harmonize with each other so that was a highlight for us.” 

RYMAN - BackRoads

Nashville-born singer-songwriter RYMAN released his debut album Growing Pains via Mom & Pop. The record captures his real-life experiences and melds the heart-on-the-sleeve, classic storytelling you find in the lyricism of country legends with the infectious melodies of indie pop, a sound that he lovingly refers to as “Barn Pop” and “Y’allternative”. Teaming up with producers Hunter West, Jake Finch, and Collin Pastore, the album embodies the resourceful, DIY spirit that has defined RYMAN’s journey, from writing songs as a middle schooler and selling vintage clothing as a way to support his music, to now designing upcycled merch as he builds his career from the ground up. On the sparse and groovy focus track, “Backroads,” RYMAN explores relationships coming to an end and appreciating just being in the moment and riding out what’s to come – good or bad. “It is about knowing where things are headed in a relationship, but still wanting to savor every last moment,” RYMAN shares. “If this is the last time we’re going to be together, I’m going to take the longest way home.”

Kid Bookie - H.A.T.E.

Having already sent shockwaves through the alternative world with the emotionally devastating "Prettier," the Corey Taylor collaboration, "BLAME," and the groundbreaking "Rose McGowan" featuring Rose McGowan herself, Kid Bookie returns with perhaps his most explosive statement yet. New single "H.A.T.E." is available now, offering another uncompromising glimpse into his hugely anticipated new album Cheaper Than Therapy II, out October 9th. For more than a decade, the South East London visionary has been tearing down the walls between UK rap, alternative rock and heavy music, carving out a sound entirely his own. From earning early recognition on BBC Radio 1Xtra to becoming a MOBO Award nominee for Best Alternative Music Act, Bookie has continually challenged expectations, building a career on fearless creativity and total authenticity. Zacchae’us Paul - Look To The Sky & She F*ck With The Racks

Multi-instrumentalist/producer Zacchae’us Paul, who is heavily influenced by Carrington, released a new pair of genre-bending singles and announced his sophomore album JAZZ MONEY VOL. 2: SWINGIN’ R&B. A love album at heart, the new single “LOOK TO THE SKY” is a captivating examination of the cycle of life and death. It is furiously swinging postbop shot through with spiritual jazz, featuring the great saxophonist/composer Eric Wyatt, who intended this piece as an homage to his late mother, and lyrics by Paul, who reflected on the baby girl he and his spouse have on the way. With a silky smooth voice destined for R&B stardom, Paul also provided the vocals on “LOOK TO THE SKY,” and tapped the talents of GRAMMY Award-nominated jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold for some staggering interplay. The result is not a mere fusion, but an entirely new sound, created by Paul: Swingin’ R&B. The second single, “SHE F*CK WITH THE RACKS,” tells the story of two ride-or-die homegirls. On the other side of the coin, it’s also about the women whose loyalty is pledged to the dollar instead of genuine love. With its expletive-laden hook, soulful harmonies, and spiraling soprano sax by Kebbi Williams, this track is a pure distillation of Paul’s notion of “jazz money” as a spinoff of the “hood rich” concept: the confluence of elegance and ambition with a street-level sensibility.
