This is a show I had been waiting to see ever since the tour was announced. This was my third time seeing VALÉ live, and let me say, she never disappoints.
Now, this wasn’t your typical VALÉ show. About an hour before she was set to perform, her outstanding drummer, Sammy, began experiencing technical difficulties with his equipment. Because of this, VALÉ had to perform over backing tracks without a live band. I love watching Sammy play. He’s one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen, and I always look forward to his performances. So yes, it was a little disappointing that Detroit didn’t get to experience the full VALÉ setup.
That said, we ended up getting something even more special at Lager House. The rawness of her performance, combined with her incredible stage presence, made this one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. From the very beginning to the final moment, VALÉ had the entire audience locked in. The venue was quite literally shaking. Fans were jumping, dancing, and she even brought people onstage to sing with her during the last song.
I also had the chance to talk with VALÉ and Sammy after the show, and getting to know them and hear about their experiences on tour is something I won’t forget. They’re both driven by a genuine passion and love for what they do, and it shows both on and off the stage. They spent over two hours connecting with fans, taking the time to really get to know them.
VALÉ is an artist who’s only going to keep growing and gaining attention. This may be her fourth and smallest tour so far, but honestly, it feels like one of her biggest yet.
She won’t be on this tour leg for much longer, so don’t miss your chance to see her live. For tickets and tour dates, visit VALÉ’s at https://www.valeinallcaps.com/
