Renowned for viral hits like “God Needs The Devil” and “The Roads”, amongst numerous other multi-million streamed pop-folk anthems, Jonah Kagen has taken his newest album, Sunflowers and Leather on The Roads (get it?).

Anna Graves is a radiant, interactive, and down-to-earth folk singer-songwriter supporting Jonah Kagen on the bulk of his Sunflowers & Leather tour, between a stretch opening for Goldie Boutilier. Combining her ever-relatable situationship spite, Midwestern roots, and love of birds and horses, Anna’s lyrics combine a familiar sense of authenticity with beautiful acoustics.

Each song has a story behind it, and Kagen does not hesitate to make that known. Notoriously yapping in between songs to the crowd, providing contextual anecdotes, candid streams of thought, and bright bits of teasing towards his bandmates and fans alike. Between his uncannily humorous nature and his soulful, heart-wrenching music, Kagen undoubtedly puts on one of the best indie-folk shows around.

East Nashville greeted him with overwhelming love, support, and banter. He noted in response to a fan thanking him for his return to Music City, that it was hardly a problem—he lives here. The night continued to be filled with an energy that was incomparable from both Kagen’s performance and the community of the crowd alike. The already unforgettable night culminated with Kagen bringing out his best friend and fellow folk artist, Vincent Lima, to perform his closing encore track, “Burn Me,” which is written and recorded with Sam Barber.

Jonah Kagen is still out on the road, with dates scheduled across the U.S. through the end of March. Fans can catch him in cities nationwide as the Sunflowers & Leather tour continues. Full tour dates and ticket information are available at https://www.jonahkagen.com/#tour
