There are so many music artists who give me such an earthy energy, and we’re going to dive into which natural biome your favorite artist embodies. This is purely for fun and there are so many amazing artists out there. These are the eleven artists who I feel embody these eleven, specific biomes the best.

Arctic Tundra = The Lumineers

The Lumineers write music for deeply poetic individuals who are familiar with tragedy. Their music gives cool toned vibes and this expansive feeling of sad nostalgia. 

Arctic tundras perfectly capture these vibes with their cooler climates, muted tones, and expansive landscape. This biome can be found in the northernmost parts of the world and hold many beloved wildlife critters like polar bears, reindeer, and arctic foxes. 

There’s something very desolate about The Lumineers lyrics, they often portray loss and change, and tundras being barren of a lot of plant life, really embody the visuals of what these songs sound like to me. It’s vast, thought-provoking, and spacious in such a calming way. 

If you’re a fan of The Lumineers, you have a love for darker things, your favorite season is probably winter, and you love anything cozy. You have a love for thought-provoking writing and you’re not afraid of big feelings. You’re a shoulder to lean on and such an endearing, old soul.

Antarctic Tundra = Aurora

Known for her Norwegian roots, Aurora’s music really captures the way that cold winds move. The way that cold wind has a bite to it, but is so free-flowing and refreshing, Aurora writes and sings in a way that is both alerting and refreshing. 

In the same way that an alpine tundra has the harsh colds contradicted by aesthetically beautiful foliage, Aurora’s captivating vocals bring the kind of aesthetic that contradicts her sometimes heavier and politically-rooted lyrics. 

For any Aurora fans, you probably have an appreciation for aesthetics and aren’t afraid to speak up for injustices. You hold so much whimsy, grace, and open-mindedness within you that it overflows to anyone who crosses your path. You have so much love for nature and you probably encourage the people around you to be mindful of their carbon footprints. What a beautiful energy to have.

Alpine Tundra = Lizzy McAlpine

Filled with grassy hills and wildflowers, surrounded by towering mountains, alpine tundras are a picturesque landscape made for reflection. Just like Lizzy and this biome, you’re probably an incredibly introspective individual who thinks clearest in mountain air. The crisp air that can be found in this biome, alongside the visuals, bring together this down-to-earth and homey vibe. You probably love a good soup or hot tea. 

Maybe you’re a reader or an artist because you see art in everything. You toil between melancholy thoughts and romanticizing every little detail of life. Your attention-to-detail and love for love are mindsets that remind us all that we’re human, and you do bravely experience every human emotion and capture its rawest moments in pictures, songs, and paintings. 

You remind us to live to the fullest and to love unapologetically. Sometimes life is a leap of faith and you’ll always be the first to take it.

Boreal “Taiga” Forest = Hozier

When anyone thinks of Hozier, they think of woodland, old growth forests and whimsical wildlife. Boreal Forests, also known as Taiga Forests, are densely packed with pines, spruce, and larch trees and exist along the northern hemisphere of the world. Just like the environmentally rich and temperate ways of the Boreal Forest, you Hozier fans probably connect deeply with nature and prefer calmer environments over bustling cities. 

You also likely have a deep appreciation for the mystical and magical, the more folklore behind a place, the better. The way that your mind works is probably so intricate and philosophical. You see patterns and connect dots so quickly it wows people. 

Hozier fans are the whimsy that this world needs more of.

Temperate Forest = Noah Kahan

Noah Kahan has built a reputation based on backwoods forests filled with all of our favorite forest critters and paired with grey, winter skies. These are the types of forests you go camping in for the weekend, stoking a fire that warms you to the bone, all wrapped up in a flannel and nostalgic memories. 

You love moody weather and a good, acoustic performance. You notice the little things in life. You’re your own worst critic. You can probably turn anything into poetry. You have a deep appreciation for your roots and prioritize creating a safe space for others to feel understood in ways you may have struggled to. 

For Noah fans, you understand what perseverance truly means, even through the stickiest seasons of life. Pun intended.

Tropical Forest = SZA

SZA has a very freeflowing spirit, she marches to the beat of her own drum. That same uniqueness is reflected in tropical rainforest as the environment that makes up this biome is such a standout amongst nature. 

Tropical rainforests are a combination of lush greenery, high humidity, with so many brightly colored critters that call this biome home. Just like these vibrant forests and the even more vibrant artist, SZA fans are fierce, bold, and full of life. 

You hold so much creativity and passion within you. You’re resilient through all of life’s storms, inspire those around you, and support people from all walks of life. You don’t mold to fit into a space you’re not made for, you are so authentically yourself and you encourage others to live their truth. SZA and her fans are the kind of people you always want in your corner.

Tropical Grassland = Macklemore

Just like the way tropical grasslands stretch across continents, coming in all different styles, anyone who loves Macklemore’s music has a deep love for diversity. Tropical grasslands house many beloved animals, like, lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, amongst many more. This biome is not for the weak and creates some tough individuals.

Like Macklemore and his love for standing on business, as his fan, you are probably fearless and resilient. Even after a tough time, you find a way to let beauty shine through. Tropical grasslands are no different. The days can be brutal with the extreme temperate highs, but surviving to dusk makes it all so worth it. 

This biome’s sunsets are next level. And just like this biome, Macklemore fans shine brightest after hardship, because that hardship is where inspiration is found and character is built. You hold so much compassion for those around you and you’ll fight to protect the people around you. You appreciate all people from all walks of life and understand that diversity is what makes the world go round.

Temperate Grassland = Olivia Rodrigo

Temperate grasslands are expansive. Olivia is an artist that does contrast well. She has a way of embodying girlhood with delicate aesthetics while interweaving it with a punk bite. Temperate grasslands are found in more central regions of continents. They’re the landscapes you think of with tall prairie grasses and wildflowers that you just want to run through on a perfectly breezy day. There’s this unspoken sense of freedom in this biome, captured by the freeflowing breezes and ever-roaming wildlife; such as wild horses, buffalo, coyotes, and swift foxes. 

Olivia captures that same freedom and wildness in every album she has dropped, both with her honest and raw lyrics, as well as the daring way she explores genres while still staying true to her spunky, authentic sound. Olivia fans are wildly free with a fiery spark of life that lights up every room they walk into. You are the definition of girlhood, no matter your gender identification, in the way that you uplift those around you, fight for justice where some may be lacking, and speak your mind beautifully. Everyone needs an Olivia fan in their life.

Desert = Elyanna

Desert biomes are intense. They’re made for some of the toughest individuals and Elyanna is an artist who is intensely herself and so fierce. 

If you’re a fan of her music, you probably aren’t afraid of a challenge and you stand firm in your beliefs. You’re resilient, warm, and love a good adventure. You love your home and take pride in your upbringing, success to you is a full kitchen table surrounded by the people you love most. Just like the desert, people don’t always understand everything about you but you know how to captivate people. Your intensity and warmth are an unforgettable type of energy.

Aquatic (Marine) = Zara Larsson

By now, Zara Larsson is heavily associated with dolphins, vibrant colors and a tropical beach setting. Marine aquatic environments are everything you think of when you envision a tropical island surrounded by crystal blue waters and coral reefs. 

If you’re a Zara fan, you probably exude vibrancy, just like this biome’s coral reefs and reef-life. And just like this sunny setting that can always be found nearest the equator and just like Zara, herself, you overflow with life in the sunniest way. Marine Aquatic biomes hold a complex ecosystem of diverse marine life that all helps to create a thriving and tranquil environment.

Aquatic (Freshwater) = Mon Rovia

Mon Rovia has a free-flowing vibe with so many stories to share. Just like freshwater sources, Mon Rovia has more depth than meets the eye. 

Freshwater aquatic biomes hold stillwater sources like ponds, marshes, lakes, and rivers. Like all biomes, they house a lot of diversity from freshwater fish to ducks to alligators to frogs. Because of their stillness, freshwater sources are easier to approach because they appear so friendly, and they are, but you also realize the depth and wonder they can hold when you get to know them beneath the surface. 

Upon first listen to Mon Rovia’s music, you’re met with pleasant and soothing melodies and his voice is so soulful, yet soft. But when you pay attention to the lyrics, they’re so deep and worth deep-diving. And that soul comes from all of the forgotten and untold stories that are deeply rooted in southern American history and life, as well as his own, individual life experiences and perspectives. 

If you’re a fan of Mon Rovia, you have a deep appreciation for culture and poetic artistry. You’re not afraid of hard conversations but you know how to approach them with so much grace. You probably have a very comforting presence to those around you and you exude a gratitude for life that is found in life’s most humbling moments. You know how to walk with friends through hardships. You probably love exploring new places, you love nature, and never say no to a lake day with friends.

As someone who adores nature and music, this was such a fun piece to write up and do a deep-dive into all of nature’s biomes. The biggest takeaway that I concluded from delving into this, both biomes and these artists hold value in diversity and being authentically connected with yourself. It’s a theme I was finding amongst each little section I was writing up.

I think no matter who you’re a fan of, anyone reading is a beautiful person with so much love for the Earth, and you have so many positive qualities. 

Never stop being yourselves, never stop spreading love and light wherever you go, and never stop listening to music while appreciating the beauty that can be found in all diverse corners of the world. Remember, it’s music that connects us all at the end of the day, and there’s so much music in nature.
