Under a Tuesday night sky, Peter McPoland kicked off the second leg of his Big Lucky Tour in Austin,Texas.
Named after his album Big Lucky, Peter McPoland is continuing the Big Lucky Tour with 19 dates across North America. When complete, he’ll have played 30 total shows between November 2025 and March 2026.
McPoland is currently joined by Dublin based, two-man band, DUG, on this leg of tour. The evening began with an amazing blend of guitar, banjo, and the vocals of Lorkin O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett. The duo introduced the crowd to songs like “Cumberland Gap” and “Have At It,” before teaching us some Irish slang and encouraging ‘boos’ during “I’m The Promoter Man.”
After a beautiful Texas sunset, Peter McPoland took the stage with Joe Curtin (drums), Landon Laney (bass), and Joshua Suarez (guitar/piano). The set began with “What Do You Do To Me,” before sinking into "I Need You,” and “Speed of the Sound (of you).” Greeting the crowd with a smile, McPoland highlighted being back in Texas and the support he’s received from not only his fans, but his friends, family, and management. Energy floated seamlessly between the crowd and the stage as fans danced and sang along to songs like “A Place Like This” and “Blue.” As curfew approached, McPoland wound down the night with the entrancing “Lady Bird” and a cover of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.”
